We regularly organise school games aimed at encouraging friendly competition amongst our pupils while learning to socialise and have fun.

OUR CURRICULUM

Our school is based on the British and Montessori curriculum for the early years (Nursery), this is to enable them to learn letter sounds and develop their reading skills before proceeding to Primary school. For the primary school, we base on Nigerian Curriculum to prepare the pupil for common Entrance examination into secondary school. Our playground is not left out. All work and no play make jack and jane a dull pupil, we have a standard playground to cater for the play needs of our pupils. Also, there is an activity room with lots of learning apparatus for after school care.

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN)

At Canton Hill Academy, we make provision for pupils with a wide range of needs: learning, physical, emotional and social. We meet the needs of these pupils through careful planning of lessons, specific resources alongside our highly skilled team of teachers and teaching assistants.

The Physical, Social, Health and Emotional needs of our students is very important. The PSHE curriculum is thought as an integral part of the school system.

In Canton Hill we develop the psychomotor and critical thinking skill in students. So, in our school we help students to actualize this in the cultural and creative department.

In Canton Hill our student are taught Geography , History, NVE, Business studies and Global perspective. this is essential to enable the students understand how the world operate, and also develop their inter personal relationship

At year 6 the student sit for the Cambridge checkpoint examination and National common entrance examination. our year 9 students are also well equipped for the secondary 1 checkpoint examination and BECE.
